The Junior Musos Learn to Sing Program introduces children to all fundamental musical skills such as :
- Singing Tunes
- Reading Music
- Writing Music
- Understanding Music
Lesson Format and Activities:
Each Lesson will contain a mix of activities to develop well rounded musical skills,give variety and review new concepts in different ways.
- Technique exercises
- Exploring and Learning about a new Musical Concept
- Singing Tunes
- Singing Performance Pieces
- A Listening quiz
- A Flashcard Quiz
- Sight Singing
- A creative improvisation
Students are required to set aside time each week between lessons to review and develop these skills through the week’s requested homework ( currently written in each child’s music diary).
A Minimum of 4 Sessions of singing at home of homework are suggested. Singing at home sessions should be based on adequate repetition and improvement in the ease of singing set homework with good concentration rather than specific amounts of time.hence sessions may vary from 5 minutes to 30 minutes.
Finding a set time for singing at home is highly recommended with as much parental support as possible.

A performance piece
Flashcard quiz review

Reading and Singing Melodies
Reading and Singing Notes across 3 octaves
Reading and Singing Rhythms
Reading and Singing a variety of Dynamics,Tempi and Meter
Reading and Singing Melodic and Harmonic Intervals
Reading and Singing Tetrachords and Triads
Reading selected Major and minor Scales and Arpeggios
How to develop tone quality and breath control
Each week a new musical concept will be explored and relevant Tunes and Performance music will be selected to assist in the understanding of the concept.
Suitable Age: 5 – 11 years
Lesson Length: 30 minutes each week
Class sizes: Individual, Shared or Small Groups of 3 – 5
Stage 1 Beginner – 2 Levels
Stage 2 Preparatory – 2 Levels
Stage 3 Preliminary – 2 Levels.
Each Level may take 1 or 2 terms ( 3 – 6 months)
Individual $35 per week via direct debit
Shared $24 per week via direct debit
Individual lessons can be started at any time within a term and require 14 days or 2 lessons notice in writing to discontinue.
NB Individual lessons only can be deferred twice per term when 24 hours notice in writing is given and an alternative time can be found. Deferred lessons are not applicable for shared or group lessons.
Shared and Group lesson bookings are made for full terms but can commence whenever a new class is ready.
Wendy’s Music Diary Method,Theory book and Backing trax per level. A Technique book and Performance music per Stage.
Currently Wendy’s Music provides all books at the first lesson and the cost is added to the first lesson fee.
Some books are still available in Hard copy but progressively Wendy’s books and materials are becoming available only as digital downloads.
Cost of a set of books per 1B,C,D, 2B,C,D,3B level can vary from $29.97 digital copies to $46.99 hard copy for Method, Theory and digital trax
For a full stage 1A, 2A, or 3A costs can vary from $57.99 a set of digital copies with hard copy Performance book to $84.98 hard copies and digital trax.
NB Performance book prices vary.
Students are required to have an instrument to play on at home however an instrument will be provided by the teachers or studio at lessons.
The minimum level of quality suggested is a 5 octave touch response keyboard, but parents should expect to upgrade their instrument within 1- 2 years to a digital piano.A keyboard stand, stool and power adaptor are also required.
A digital piano or acoustic piano are suitable for the entire program.

Obtaining an Instrument page
It is essential for all students learning to play an instrument to have a reliable and correctly sized instrument to play on at home as well as lessons.
Wendy’s Music Studios provide a Piano, Digital Piano, Keyboard, or Drumkit for this lessons, however for all other instruments students are required to provide their own for lessons and at home.
Instruments such as Violins, Guitars, Flutes and Saxophones come in different sizes suitable to different ages. Prior to purchase it is suggested you undertake a Free assessment lesson and have your child measured to ensure it is suitable.
