Positions are available in a variety of settings:
After registration an interview is organized to determine positions best suited to you.
Teaching instrumental music to individuals, workshop groups and ensembles.
Encourage, organize and foster the participation of students in appropriate performances.
Develop, organize and direct ensembles, bands, choirs etc.
Competence in one or more musical instrument.
Performance experience on one or more instrument.
Appropriate formal qualifications will be well regarded.
Experience in teaching/leadership roles also will be helpful, not essential.
This will be determined by the requirements of each individual placement. Opportunities exist in Preschool, Primary Schools, during school hours or afterschool and at our studios after school and on saturdays. If desired there may be more than one school at which a teacher is placed.
Positions are usually that of subcontractors paid monthly in arrears. Payment is per student per lesson, or in some cases is on a per-day basis. Tax will not be deducted.
The ability to work with students in an encouraging and informative way.
The ability to work with other teachers as members of a team.
The ability to follow a curriculum.
Punctuality and reliability.
Good communication and organizational skills.
Presentation of a recent Police check.
Attendance is required at an initial induction workshop to become familiar with the syllabus, admin procedures, complete contracts etc.
Further attendance is required at training workshops held at least once each term, or more frequently if required.
